We did much research and homed in on the StratoSpire 2 ultra lightweight tent, from Tarptent.  It weighs a mere 1300g including the lightweight tent pegs, and packs down to 4 cm x 11 cm.

Cleverly, the tent uses lekis / walking poles ( 2 ) for structural support, with them being in the porch of each side of the tent and not in the bedroom space.  The outer tarp section can be used as just that, or the inner bedroom section can be added.

The bedroom section is roomy even with 2 people in it.  The clever and unusual shape of the tent results in maximum space being very useful and utilised inside. The inner bathtub floor is hardwearing and easy to clean.  The interior walls can be either full mesh or solid fabric to suit conditions or preferences.  A lightweight groundsheet can also be purchased to place underneath the bedroom base if so desired.

Full tent erection needs 2 people, in 2 minutes, or by 1 person in 5 minutes.

Walking can be a dangerous sport.  Walkers should always be suitably equipped, including carrying and knowing how to use a map and compass.
